Our Grade 7/8 students had an exciting opportunity to learn about water ecosystems in a unique, hands-on way. They explored the key differences between abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) elements within these ecosystems, gaining a deeper understanding of the delicate balance that supports life in water environments.

This memorable experience was made possible through a partnership with West Red Lake Gold Mines, who arranged for two industry professionals, Ms. Serena Tougas and Ms. Chris Hague, to visit our school. Ms. Tougas and Ms. Hague shared their expertise, giving students a firsthand look at how science connects to real-world environmental stewardship.

A big thank you to West Red Lake Gold Mines, Ms. Tougas, and Ms. Hague for providing this inspiring learning experience! Moments like these help our students see the impact of their studies beyond the classroom and encourage them to think about the importance of protecting our natural world.
